Specifically, 'Martin' in a musical setting of Voltaire's Candide, 'The Compere' in Cabaret, 'Dr. Faustus' in Kit Marlowe's Faustus, and <minor drum roll> Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. I believe that this is why it was suggested I would be appropriate for the Ghost role in Maskerade. Response to the comment in the casting thread about 'Tell us if you're crap': it is worth noting that the experience listed above was in 1993-6, and I've not been on stage since. I've never acted on screen before, except very briefly, during an audition for a role in a sattelite TV series which is going to hopefully start production next year (I was cast [1]). The biggest caveat regarding my putative casting as the Ghost/Walter; Walter is described as being thin, and the Ghost as being tall, and I'm short and broad. (specifically, about 5'8"; I can look normal but I can also look very solid if I want to). I'm (obviously) more than happy to audition with the directors/casting director: for pretty much anything tbh, as I'd like to act or to sing in the project whoever I end up being. It did occur to me that one option might be to use me as the voice of the Ghost rather than as the Ghost, but again that's a question for a vocal audition. WRT another question which came up on list: fight choreography. As I said in my post *to* the list, I've done some. I'm not a Real Choreographer™, but I've been choreographed a bit and have acted as 'sword geek assistant' and 'martial arts geek assistant' to a director in the past. For the 'look' of the thing, I can also supply at least one very nice looking rapier (it's authentic, which is why it looks nice) and would be more than willing to purchase another as a contribution to the project (though not this month). I'm happy to lend equipment, with two caveats: 1] I want to be there when it's used and 2] I want to have satisfied myself that the people using it know what they're doing enough to be safe; one of the advantages of having coaching quals is that you get very paranoid about the possible mishaps of untrained people waving swords about.
