Maskerade: the Movie: People

I'm a long term irregular AFP lurker who'd be interested in doing whatever I can to assist with the movie. I'm glad you (plural, whoever) has chosen Maskerade as it is by far my favourite DW novel, not because I think it is necessarily the best, but simply because of its theatre (my other passion) aspect.

I'm a member of an amateur operatic society with whom I've acted, built set and and assisted with most aspects of theatrical production. I am fully aware that theatre and film are 2 entirely different mediums, so a lot of it is irrelevant. Membership of said operatic society may allow me access to relevant props and costumes as time draws nearer, unfortunately my society always hires sound and lighting so I can't help with that.

I am in the UK, Cornwall to be precise, and would definitely like to be involved during filming, ego says I'd like to be in front of camera whatever else I'm doing even if it is as an extra.

On building sets, it is hard work and expensive to build something that looks realistic on stage and on camera is even more difficult so I'd advise not building any sets at all if possible. For internals it would be easier and cheaper to find somebody with a reasonably suitable room and dress it, if the camera doesn't move too far the room doesn't even have to be the right size. For externals, look bloody hard for a location and failing that see if composite imaging can be used (if it is good enough for StarWars episode 1)

I am about to join the mailing list where I'll probably put in my twopennies worth. Also about to reread Maskerade, as if I needed an excuse.
